Norman crime · calendar 2025 year in review

Updated as of Sep 29, 2026 (CT)

Posted Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Year in review · NPD Open Data Every mapped collision and arrest is on the maps below. Nearby points are grouped into numbered circles that split apart as you zoom in (amber on the collision map, dark red on the arrest map); a white circle is one exact spot. Arrest maps can be filtered by race and sex; the filter updates that map, its count, the arrest top-10 and the arrest charts. The collision map and stat cards are not affected. Norman 2025: collisions down, arrests roughly flat

Calendar-year NPD open data shows — collision cases and — person-arrests in Norman. Versus 2024: collisions —; arrests —. On the maps, amber (collisions) and dark-red (arrests) circles group nearby points and split as you zoom in; the top-10 lists count each exact intersection or address, not a neighborhood patch.

Collisions · zoomable map and top 10 exact intersections

One point per collision case (multi-unit rows collapsed). Streets/intersections geocoded mainly from 2025 CFS coordinates keyed to the same address fields. Every mapped collision is on the map: amber circles group nearby collisions (the number is the total inside) and split as you zoom in; a white circle with an amber ring is one exact intersection or address with the number of cases recorded there.

Counts are per exact mapped intersection; the same intersection written in either street order is merged. Tap a row to zoom the map to it.

Arrests · zoomable map and top 10 exact addresses

Person-arrests (charge lines collapsed by case + arrest time + race + sex + age). Location is the case address from case details — not necessarily where handcuffs went on. The map shows every mapped arrest, grouped into dark-red circles that split as you zoom in; a white circle with a red ring is one exact address and its number is the arrests tied to it. Race/sex filters update the map, the “Showing … arrests” count, the top-10 table and the two charts (charts switch to the mapped arrests that match the filter; with no filter they show all person-arrests, including the ones that could not be mapped). Street numbers are shown only for the top-10 addresses; other popups show the hundred block. Counts are raw NPD-coded tallies, not rates.

Caveats · read before sharing a screenshot

Arrest counts ≠ crime rates and ≠ population rates. Race, sex, and ethnicity are as coded by NPD on the arrest record. Case address is where the case was tied in open data — it is not a confirmed cuff location. Collision geocode success is incomplete (misses include private-property strings and some rural/ramp intersections). Source: NPD Open Data Portal, calendar 2025. Anonymous desk.
